What Do I Need To Do If I M Involved In An Riverside Or San Bernardino Car Accident?

Submitted by: Jack Baron

What do I need to do if I m involved in an Riverside or San Bernardino car accident?

Here are some steps to take if you are involved in an auto accident:

The safety of the people involved is the most important. Check on all passengers and drivers. Call 911 to report the accident and request medical help if needed.

Move all vehicles and people to a safe location off to the side of the road. Put on hazard lights.

Wait for the police to arrive. Do not discuss the accident with others.

While waiting, take plenty of pictures of the scene, roadway, and cars.

Get complete contact information from everyone involve in the accident and witnesses. Get driver s license information and vehicle tag numbers.

If you feel any pain or stiffness, seek medical attention.

Do I really need to go to the hospital?

Yes, if you sense that there may be any chance that you have an injury, you should seek immediate medical attention at a nearby Riverside or San Bernardino Hospital. Some people only feel slight discomfort and postpone getting medical attention, only to find at a later time that their injury has worsened.

What should I tell the doctor?

Describe your injuries in detail to the doctor, making sure not to exaggerate or minimize what you are experiencing.

Do I need to report the accident to my insurance company?

Yes, you will need to report the accident to your insurance company, but we recommend that you have a free consultation with an Riverside & San Bernardino car accident attorney first. Remember that an insurance company has its own interests, and not yours, in mind.

Who will pay for the damages?

If the car accident was the other driver s fault, that driver s insurance company will pay for your damages. However, if the responsible driver is uninsured or underinsured, your insurance company may pay for damages. If you ever feel that either insurance company is not being fair, consult an attorney immediately.

What about my injuries?

Responsibility for injuries is the same as for vehicle damages: the responsible driver s insurance company should pay.

How will I know if I need an attorney?

Individuals who are involved in Riverside & San Bernardino car accidents may need an attorney in the following situations:

If the car accident required medical treatment

If you have had to miss work because of an accident

If the car accident resulted in significant property damage

If either insurance company has declined your claim or refused to fully pay for damages

How much does getting an attorney cost?

A consultation with our Riverside & San Bernardino car accident attorney will not cost you anything. You will only pay a fee if we win or settle your case.

How long does the process take?

An Riverside & San Bernardino car accident can often be settled out of court and can be completed pretty quickly. Some cases, however, may require a trial, which can take months or years.

How much money can I expect to get for my case?

Your compensation may include payment of medical bills, property damage costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering

1960’s guru icon Maharishi Mahesh Yogi dies

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

An Indian guru who taught some of the 20th century’s most famous celebrities and created a multi-billion dollar spiritual empire has died. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation movement, died at his home in the Netherlands. He is believed to have been 91 years old.

Known for his long white beard and tendency to giggle, he became a well-known counter-culture figure in the 1960’s. Members of the Beatles rock music band made repeated pilgrimages to the Himalayan foothills to study his meditation technique, known as TM.

Little is certain about the yogi’s early life in central India. His given name and birthday are disputed. It is known he studied physics at Allahabad University.

A professor of psychology at the school, Emmanuel Ghosh, says the guru’s academic training, combined with study under a Vedic swami, helped to make him accessible to those in the West seeking alternative answers to life’s questions during the socially tumultuous 1960’s.

“He had a rational approach,” said Ghosh. “He had a scientific background and he could tell the West that ‘You could test my theories through science.’ He was the first one who started this whole system of reducing stress by breath control, by meditation and you could measure it in objective terms.”

Maharishi also tutored other pop musicians, Hollywood actors and film directors. His TM movement attracted millions of followers worldwide who paid hundreds of dollars to receive a personal mantra to recite for 20 minutes, twice a day.

Professor Ghosh at Allahabad University says, despite his fame and success overseas, Maharishi was just one among many gurus in his native India.

“His influence in India has been negligible. Every guru is independent to propagate his own method of salvation or nirvana,” said Ghosh. “So he took off for a while [in India] as long as he was appreciated in the West.”

Perhaps his biggest legacy in India is the country’s largest chain of privately owned schools. Other institutes and universities based on his teachings also exist in the United States and Europe.

In later years, some of the guru’s projects and beliefs earned him ridicule, such as hoping to raise $10 trillion to achieve world peace and banish poverty and encouraging followers to learn what he called “yogic flying”. While many adherents praise Maharishi for propagating a scientifically verifiable ancient method to help them deal with the stress of modern life, some disenchanted followers considered TM a quasi-religious cult more interested in raising funds than spirits.

Natural Alternatives To Rawhide Bones

byadmin

Dog treats and chews come in diverse sizes, shapes, and types. Some are easy to chew; others challenge your dog. Rawhide bones are a common staple of many dog owners. However, there are natural alternatives to rawhide bones that will satisfy the chewing urges of the toughest dog critic.

Talking AlternativesWhen looking at “natural” dog chews and treats, be sure to have a definition clearly in mind. Remember, just because it says so on the package does not make it true. For some companies, natural may include several chemicals or ingredients with lengthy and unpronounceable names. Several of them they list as preservatives – as good an excuse as many.

While it is possible to weed through the terminology and get lost in what chemicals and other ingredients are safe, sometimes the best approach is to look for simple. When looking at the available natural alternatives to rawhide bones, look at those that feature the least ingredients. Consider the small sample provided below:

  • Antlers – Deer and elk shed them. Your pet may enjoy them. These are tough chews but may be too tough or too sharp for some pets
  • Sweet potatoes – Some dogs love; others reject. Check to see which category your canine falls into
  • Bones – Dog lovers are in 3 camps about bones.

    * Those who never feed their dogs bones – too dangerous* Those who argue raw bones are best* Those who believe basted bones are better – easier to digest

In all cases, the right types of bones (large-animal) do provide a challenge and enormous pleasure to canines of all sizes

  • Animal Skins – Some companies take the skin of a pig or other animal, bake it and make it into a chewable, edible and highly digestive product

Natural Alternatives To Rawhide Bones

There are many natural alternatives to rawhide bones. Go online. Do the research and purchase something healthy your dog can chew with relish.

US unemployment rate reaches 9.8%

Friday, October 2, 2009

Companies in the United States are shedding more jobs, pushing the country’s unemployment rate to a 26-year high of 9.8%.

The US Labor Department said on Friday that employers cut 263,000 jobs in September, with companies in the service industries — including banks, restaurants and retailers — hit especially hard. This is the 21st consecutive month of job losses in the country.

The United States has now lost 7.2 million jobs since the recession officially began in December 2007. The new data has sparked fears that unemployment could threaten an economic recovery. Top US officials have warned that any recovery would be slow and uneven, and some have predicted the unemployment rate will top 10% before the situation improves.

“Continued household deleveraging and rising unemployment may weigh more on consumption than forecast, and accelerating corporate and commercial property defaults could slow the improvement in financial conditions,” read a report by the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook, predicting that unemployment will average 10.1% by next year and not go back down to five percent until 2014.

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Economy.com, said that “it’s a very fragile and tentative recovery. Policy makers need to do more.”

“The number came in weaker than expected. We saw a lot of artificial involvement by the government to prop up the markets, and now that that is starting to end, the private sector isn’t yet showing signs of life,” said Kevin Caron, a market strategist for Stifel, Nicolaus & Co.

Also on Thursday, the US Commerce Department said factory orders fell for the first time in five months, dropping eight-tenths of a percent in August. Orders for durable goods — items intended to last several years (including everything from appliances to airliners) — fell 2.6%, the largest drop since January of this year.

The US government has been spending billions of dollars — part of a $787 billion stimulus package — to help spark economic growth. There have been some signs the economy is improving.

The Commerce Department said on Thursday that spending on home construction jumped in August for its biggest increase in 16 years. A real estate trade group, the National Association of Realtors, said pending sales of previously owned homes rose more than 12 percent in August, compared to August 2008.

A separate Commerce Department report said that consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of US economic activity, rose at its fastest pace in nearly eight years, jumping 1.3 percent in August.

Other reports have provided cause for concern. A banking industry trade group said Thursday the number of US consumers making late payments, or failing to make payments, on loans and credit cards is on the rise. A survey by a business group, the Institute for Supply Management, Thursday showed US manufacturing grew in September, but at a slower pace than in August when manufacturing increased for the first time in a year and a half.

Stock markets reacted negatively to the reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 41 points in early trading, reaching a level of 9467. This follows a drop of 203 points on Thursday, its largest loss in a single day since July. The London FTSE index fell 55 points, or 1.1%, to reach 4993 points by 15.00 local time.

U.S. Senate majority goes to Democrats

Friday, November 10, 2006

George Allen, incumbent Republican Senator from Virginia, conceded the state’s mid-term election to Democratic challenger Jim Webb on Thursday. Democrats have now gained the six seats needed by the party to hold majority control of the Senate.

“The people of Virginia have spoken, they have spoken in a closely divided voice. We have two 49ers,” Allen said during the afternoon press conference in Arlington. Allen garnered 49.25% of the vote, compared to the 49.55% who supported Webb. “I do not wish to cause more rancor by protracted litigation that would not, in my opinion, alter the results.”

The concession by Allen in traditionally Republican Virginia follows what were once prospects for an Allen 2008 presidential bid. An easy Allen re-election campaign to the Senate was expected, but what came was the Democrats ability to frame the election as a national referendum on the war in Iraq. Democrats may have succeeded nationally to draw on the issue of Iraq, but local politics were very much in play in Northern Virginia.

According to the Virginia Pilot, “Unofficial returns gave Democratic nominee Webb a 120,000-vote advantage over Allen in Northern Virginia’s eight localities. But Webb trailed badly across most of the rest of the state and would have decisively lost the election without his Northern Virginia support.” The margin by which Webb won was 9,000 votes.

Allen’s formulaic stance against tax increases, whether for highway taxes to improve congested northern highway and commuter corridors, or outright fiscal conservativism of all taxes in the face of a burgeoning national deficit, worked against him.

The state constitutional amendment banning recognition of same-sex marriage supported by Allen, but opposed by Webb and Governor Tim Kaine, and most Northern Virginians, worked against Allen in the election.

Tea Tree Oil Uses And Treatments

By James J Clarkson

The range of tea tree oil uses is incredible for such a simple little product. It can be used to fight fungal infections, it helps to prevent scarring and it also works on baby’s diaper rash.

If you ever had a fungal infection such as ringworm or athletes foot you will know how difficult it can be to get rid of it. Ringworm isn’t a worm but a fungus. It got its name as it can grow in circles resembling worms. In fact the Latin name i.e. the medical name for this condition is Tinea which means growing worm. It can occur anywhere on the skin but is most prevalent on the scalp or feet. As tea tree oil has anti fungal properties, it has proven very effective in getting rid of this condition. Do not apply neat but use it with carrier base oil such as grape seed oil or sunflower oil. In a diluted form, you can have a nice tea tree oil acne treatment.

If you are going to have surgery, try having regular massages with this oil before hand as it will help to improve your recovery time as well as reduce scarring. The oil also helps to bolster your natural immune system thus helping your body to fight off infections which are a risk with any form of surgical procedure. The massage itself will also help to offset any nervous feelings you may hold regarding the medical procedure.

If you have children you will probably have come across head lice. These creatures, while not harmful, are extremely irritating not only because they cause itching but they are also difficult to get rid of. But lice do not like tea tree oil so try adding a couple of drops of the oil to your normal shampoo. Use every time you wash your child’s hair, massaging it into their scalp and leaving for five minutes. This should act as a deterrent to the lice. If your child already has lice, it is probably best to get of the infestation first using a nit comb. Then start applying the tea tree oil shampoo to keep the lice at bay.

If you regularly suffer from colds and flu, try giving your system a boost via steam inhalation. Add a couple of drops of oil to very hot water. Place a towel over your head and inhale the steam. The antibacterial and anti viral properties of the oil will help to flush the germs out of your system. If you have children, you might not want to use steaming due to the danger of burning. You can achieve the same effect using a vaporizer in their room while they sleep.

Finally if you or your partner suffers from bad breath, try gargling with a solution of oil and warm boiled water. It is very simple but effective although it does taste rather bitter. This only describes a handful of tea tree oil uses. The list of problems it can help solve is huge, so make sure that your medicine cabinet has a bottle in it.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Andrzej Lepper sacked

Tuesday, July 10, 2007File:Andrzej Lepper.jpg

Andrzej Lepper, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, was sacked on Monday over a corruption investigation.

Jaros?aw Kaczy?ski, the current Prime Minister, explained the reasons of dismissal in an interview for public television channel TVP1:

There are serious reasons to believe they [members of Lepper’s party] may have been involved in criminal activities.

Kaczy?ski was referring to two people arrested by the Central Anticorruption Bureau on Friday. One of them, Andrzej R., told the Bureau that he was linked with Lepper. It is widely rumoured that a bribe in the amount of 3 million z?oty was involved.

Mr. Lepper insist he is innocent, but he also told news-channel TVN24 that the coalition is over. Lepper is the leader of the {{w|Self-Defense of the Republic of Poland]] party, which is the second largest in the government coalition.

I am not going back into this government.

The coalition’s break-up means that there is no majority in the Polish parliament at the moment. Self-Defence has 46 deputies in the 460-seat Sejm, the lower house of the Parliament. However, it may not mean early elections – the Opposition has too few votes to dissolve the Parliament.
